Mohair, wool, rock from the Wasatch mountains
10 x 7 x 1 in
This piece was woven in Sandy, Utah on May 1, 2025 as number 3 of a 30 day series. Kathy felt inspired when she discovered moss growing on large rocks during a spring hike in the Wasatch mountains. The moss, rootless yet resilient, added a layer of unexpected texture and color to the grainy rocks dotting the trail. She wove together a rock from the Wasatch mountains, mohair, and wool sourced from Copenhagen during her travels in 2022. The piece will be framed with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist on the back of the artwork.
